Blue Mountains Palliative Support Service

A volunteer service providing care and support for people living with a life limiting illness and for their carers, families and friends.

Blue Mountains Palliative Support Service (BMPSS) can provide volunteers to assist you and your family. Who are the Volunteers?

Our volunteers are special people who are carefully selected and trained.

They are interested in providing palliative support and are very important members of palliative care services.

Our Volunteers undergo extensive training in this specialist field. Their personal qualities include knowledge and understanding of palliative care issues, sensitivity and empathy, and their willingness to be there for people living with a life-limiting illness, their family and friends.

Volunteers continue this commitment by also offering support in bereavement.

How we can help you

The aim of Palliative Care is to enable a person to live in dignity, peace and comfort throughout the duration of their life-limiting illness.

As part of the Sydney West Area Health Services Palliative Care team, we provide support either in the home or in hospital.

Blue Mountains Palliative Support Service seeks to support each individual according to their particular needs.
