A Neighbour Aid Project

The Service Can Help If You Are:

• A frail aged person.

• A person of any age with a physical or mental disability.

• A relative or friend who usually looks after this person and needs a break
  

How Can The Home Volunteers Visitors Help?

• Regular Friendly Visits

• Phone contact

• Caring Support Group

• Information and referral to other services and groups such as social groups and health, government or community services.

• Library Service

• Help with Other Tasks such as letter writing, posting, reading, phone calls, walking pets (limited).

Why Become A Volunteer Visitor?

• For the opportunity of providing a vital link with a socially isolated person and to use your skills to enhance another person's life.

• To be actively involved in your own community.

• To be a part of a Mountain wide team of Home Volunteers Visitors who are supported by their local co-ordinator.

The Benefits Include

• Free training programs and seminars

• Reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses: petrol, fares and phone calls.

• Regular support meetings and get togethers with other volunteers.

Service Aims.

To support frail aged and adults of all ages with disabilities by providing services which enable these people to remain in their own home rather then moving into institutions.

To empower people by assisting them to remain as independent and dignified as possible.

Home Volunteers Visitors is funded through the Home and Community Care Programme (HACC),a joint State and Federally funded program.
